Armchair diagnosis and cosmetic dentistry treatment plan.
- History: This gentleman's teeth give evidence of his age (he is in his late 70's). His center two teeth have worn extensively. The teeth flanking them have worn some also. The net effect of this tooth wear is that his canine teeth (also called eyeteeth or cuspids) look somewhat fang like.
- Cosmetic dentistry treatment plan: A more youthful appearance could be achieved by restoring the center two teeth closer to the length they were before the tooth wear took place. Additionally, the canine teeth could be shortened somewhat so to give his smile a more even appearance. These changes could probably be best achieved via the construction of dental crowns.
