Armchair diagnosis and cosmetic dentistry treatment plan.
- History: When this woman submitted her picture to us she stated that she would like to make changes with her smile but orthodontic treatment (braces) was not an option she wanted to consider.
- Cosmetic dentistry treatment plan:
Our "after" picture shows how her smile might be changed by placing porcelain veneers on her center four upper teeth. The space between the middle two teeth (termed a "diastema") has been closed by way of making the porcelain veneers for these teeth wider than each tooth was originally. The trade off here is that this increased width may make these teeth look too oversized. Both the dentist doing this treatment and the patient would together need to determine if this treatment method would result in an appropriate cosmetic end.
