Cosmetic dentistry makeovers: Armchair diagnosis and treatment plan.
- History: This person reports that the two upper teeth to the right of center (his upper right incisors) are actually dental crowns placed on dental implants.
He also states that due to damage to the tooth's root that the upper tooth left of center will also have to be extracted and a dental implant and crown placed.
- Cosmetic dentistry treatment plan:
When you look at this person's smile take notice of the fact that all four of his upper incisors are similar in size and shape. That's not typical for humans. Usually a person's central incisors are both wider and longer than the lateral incisors that lie to each side of them.
Our after picture illustrates how this person's smile might be changed by way of placing new
dental crowns
on all four upper incisors. While there could be limitations associated with this case that cannot be determined from this photograph, placing dental crowns on all four teeth should give the dentist performing this work latitude in altering the relative size and shape of these teeth.
