What is wrong with using whitening toothpastes?

There is nothing wrong with whitening toothpastes that can be brought from most chemists or supermarkets, however most people that have used these toothpastes realise that they do not work especially well. This is because teeth that have been stained over the years cannot be whitened by any amount of exterior brushing. The stains penetrate deep into the tooth enamel and only bleaching can penetrate deep enough to remove these stains.
